Holy mother of god, the Onyx blade and miracle builds...

So I'm doing a miracle build, problem was, I was running out of FP and estus, leaving me to be nothing but a sitting duck, so I needed a weapon. Sunlight straight sword was off the table due to it's terribly low dmg and removing tears of denial, Anri's Straight Sword was on the table but I wasn't interested in leveling up luck (At least not until any stats that I find actual use of were on their soft caps), so I was shifting through my inventory, considering any weapon that had faith scaling, but also not terribly high dex or strength (or even both) requirements, and I found it

holy mother of god this beautiful greatsword, getting 600+ AR at under 50 faith, min requirements for dex and strength, alongside being just +4, and that is while buffed, so what about it at +5?

its does with without buffs 740 ar +5 one of the best faith weap of the game. holly molly give the dark moon blade buff with hornet rand you crit with 1180 dmg. praise it bro like a

Can't buff this weapon. I think. It's weapon art is pretty much a buff though, and i think that's the closest you are gonna get. Still a sick weapon, carried me through the game as a pyro.

In all seriousness the aforementioned build isn't a miracle build per se but an ultrabuffed swordsman. I've had good results with it PvE and PvP, except against Nameless King due to his lightning resistance.

Oath of Sunlight (Sunlight straight sword WA) -> Tears of Denial -> Deep Protection. Weed up if you like too. Use rings to extend the effects of aforementioned buffs and end your PvP fights quick. That feeling when you win a fight with a trade cuz you got ToD on with that armour set... really makes you wanna go to church, lol.

The LKGS is actually incredibly good when infused with lightning or blessed.

Let me tell you like the others have, that triple split damage is GARBO. If you want to calculate it's ACTUAL AR, ignore the self buff and the physical damage. Those will get cut down by at least half by absorption and defense. That'll probably bring it to roughly 550 actuall ar while buffed, What you want to pay attention to is the dark damage. Should be something like 350ish right? Most people except clerics have low dark defenses. Even so, take a claymore on a dex or strength build. You'll be doing a ton more damage reliably with a 40 dex or 40 str(while 2handing) claymore, or hell, even a lightning/blessed infuses SAINTS BIDENT will be doing more. Un infused it still has faith scaling for your faith build, plus lightning or dark or darkmoon blade on it, BOI. Basically what I'm saying is that you;re horribly mislead by raw numbers. Take absorption into effect, as well as flat defense. You'll see how little damage your sword ACTUALLY does once you hit another player with it.

Don't forget that the Onyx Blade is incredibly long, though. You almost get UGS range while still having GS attack speed. The key to using it effectively is using that range to your advantage.

Don't look at AR, it's split damage (regular, dark and fire - if you use WA).
