Any decent build around Friede's Great Scythe ?

I feel like building INT in this game is worthless as spells are weak and easily avoidable and not having a shield to parry the overwhelming amount of greatsword users is suicidal.
Please prove me wrong.

INT builds are great if you are actually an INT build to begin with.
If you are going for a 40 INT build (MLGS, Friede's Great Scythe) then don't bother with sorceries. Use Snap Freeze with Friede's, or Great Farron Dart/Flashsword with MLGS with Sage's and Bellowing Ring.

The best would be 40 INT and 40 DEX. But you can't get that unless you sacrifice other points. There is no way to get 40 VIG and 40 END with 40/40 INT/DEX. So you go for 35/35 VIG/END and use Prisoner's Chain. Don't bother with ATT or anything other than Snap Freeze and Frozen Weapon. You do have quite a bit of range with secondary weapons to choose from with either Crystal or Sharp. But Sharp is better in this case coupled with Frozen Weapon.

This is built around SL 120.

So I've been looking at the wiki and it seems that the dex cap for faster cast is 50, whilst sage ring gives 30 (virtual) DEX to cast faster, meaning I would lose the other 20. I feel like it's kind of a waste, so I thougt of replacing it with Cloranthy +3 or Darkmoon ring. Maybe Young dragon since it scales with Bellowing ?
As for the weapon, I used Sharp Sellsword Winblades through PvE, are these any good in PvP ? What else can I choose, that wouldn't require me to invest too much (or at all) stats ?

Like I said there seems to be a cap (I tried the sage ring with these stats in dex & int and the difference is barely noticeable), is the 10 virtual DEX really worth it ?

nope, just stick with 30-40 dex with 40-60 int

It's like 1 or 2 SLs less efficient, just cut them off End.
