New Pc - transfer save files?

So just recently built a new gaming rig and got all the fun stuff setup, long story short, I loaded up Souls3 on the new PC (same steam account) and none of my previous characters are there. Silly me for assuming they wuld be I guess.

Does anyone know a way to transfer my characters? really do not want to go back to playing souls on my laptop.

There is a way to save your games yes. If you have windows then go to sthe start menu, type un "Run", then clock the thing that shows up. After that a box will show up, type into that box "%appdata%", this will take you to a set of files once you click the ok button.

Once in those files, open the DarkSoulsIII file and the save should be under a folder with random numbers (For what I know). There will then be a file called "DS30000.sl2 in there. That is your save file, copy and past there whereever you want it.

***ALSO***

DO NOT rename the file as it will not work in the game after that is done (Even if you change it back to the original name). I reccomend making a folder for each save file and naming them what you want if you have multiple saves like me.

Ah, so basically I can go on my laptop, copy all my save files and just paste into my app data for DS3 on my new PC? Thank you!

Can you get banned when using the transferred save online? Because I read somewhere that any kind of tampering with save files will lead to a ban

transferring your own saves linked to your own steam acct is fine - no online ban

transferring someone else's saves and using them with your steam acct is not - will incur an online ban
