Not to discount your achievement but this games difficulty is overly hyped because of the summon system. People don't want to spend time learning bosses so they put them in the too hard category and ask for help almost immediately.
There are 4-5 bosses that require a few hours investment to learn. Rest are pretty easy or come at a stage in the game where your honed skills from actually playing the game make them easy.
Oh, it's not that AT ALL. I'm just surprised that he died that quickly. We ARE talking about a Souls boss, after all. The win against them is supposed to be earned, and I kinda feel that I didn't earn the win.
Imo he's more of a warning shot than a boss. It's the game's way of telling people new to the series that there's going be difficulty spikes ahead.
As far as killing vordt for his bonfire, he's even easier than gundyr if you just stay behind him. You can get the sword masters help too and maybe grab the claymore if need be or the dark axe from the mimic which he's weak to.
He's also weak to ranged damage from casters since his whole shtick is to get the player close to him and out of stamina.
