They all have the same frame data. Stability just affects the stamina loss on a partial parry. So in conclusion just pick the one that's most suitable for what you're dealing with. That means high stability + good defense to the damage type(s). So generally the Lothric Knight Shield, but the various crest shields are useful against other types of elemental builds.

Honestly the differences are pretty minimal, I'd say just go for the one that fits your fashion souls.

If the parry frames really are the same, then your two best choices are between the Lothric Knight Shield and the Silver Knight Shield... at least when they're not leveled. Initially, the Silver Knight Shield has one more stability, one more fire resistance, one more magic resistance, and one more dark resistance... while the Lothric Knight Shield has 39 more lightning resistance. Also, the LKS requires slightly more strength to use, while the SKS is slightly heavier. The way I see it, the LKS's incredible lightning resistance more than trumps the SKS's slightly better all-round stats. As they level up, the LKS's stability increases faster than the SKS's, so it eventually has more stability too.

Overall, it's an easy choice, Lothric Knight Shield all the way. Good stats, and it lets you laugh at anyone trying to blast you with miracles. The perfect counter to Lightning Arrow.

Lothric Knight Shield is the highest stability medium shield, Stability affects how much stamina drain you take from anything hitting your shield, whether blocking or parrying.

Crest shield variants are good depending on what kind of spells you are up against. Although for stability I would use the Lothric Knight Shield.

Overall the shield I use the most is the Llewellyn Shield. Even though it's a small shield it has the highest stability of the small shield category at 59.

Iron round shield is actually the highest at 63,which is what I'm using right now

Medium shields have the latest and shortest parry frames, but I was told it was better than small shields for parry setups.

Only reason it's better is due to less stamina loss when blocking the first hit, and that you take no chip damage (or far less if they use an elemental infused weapon). A small shield is still easier to setup parry with, but doing it with a medium shield isn't hard.

Small shields are better for reaction parries compared to something like a caestus because even if you do whiff the parry theres at least some stamina left for a roll. Iron roundshield / llewlyn shield are the way to go for setup parries. Med shields cant even set up parry a straghtsword so i dont see the point.

Black knight has more stability but can't parry.
