terrible almost unplayable lag with GTX 1060 TI and at least 8 gigs of ram
I get terrible, terrible lag on my PC, and I have no idea why, even when at lowest graphics, at lothric's high wall, etc.
my brother has a similar computer but no lag, is it Geforce experience lagging me?

most lag with this game is internet....your computers ability to talk with the server is being hampered it seems..

I dont have such a lag but, the game have a very bad (almost non existent) optimization, as the whole game is almost 100% loaded to the direction you are facing, what mean even areas you cant see are calculated by your GPU and CPU.

I play Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1366x768 and everything else maxed:

And I still have some moments of lower fps at DS3 sometimes.
(but yeah, on SSD game would load areas and render "a bit" faster).

I havent used and hdd with this game so take this with a grain of salt. But. ..

This may be the issue, especially if combined with a bad connection. There's a lot of back up data being constantly overwritten each time you perform an action in game, both on the servers and harddrive. Each time you see the flame in the right hand corner of the screen...something is being saved.

Not sure just how big a diff it would be from an hdd to ssd, but based o experience from playing other games on hdd (havent had a mechanical drive in my system since before I started ds3), it wouldnt shock me if some lag was from saving.

Make sure you're using your GPU and not integrated graphics through the nvidia control panel.

indeed. every person that struggles with fps spikes has ds3 installed on SSD. coincidence? I think not.

@OP reinstall DS3 on HDD and see what happens.

I have it on ssd, and I have no struggles. I keep my ssd under 75 percent capacity though, as is recommended.

This game is extremely poorly optimized. fx-8320e @4.0 GHz + 1060 6Gb, ssd and 8 Gb of ram memory. And I have drop of fps. going from 60 to 30-40.
