Can't stream on discord?
So yesterday I was trying to stream to my friend through discord screen share to try and show him the Cinders mod. However, every time I tried to select Dark Souls III and stream it, the game would close itself/crash. Eventually we figured out that just sharing my entire screen and putting the game on fullscreen would work, but he would get no audio of the game.

I don't use the discord overlay on any of my games, and I've been reluctant to take off the steam overlay from DS3 as i'm not sure it would help. Does anyone have advice on how to fix this annoying problem?

Thanks for your assistance.

I have the same issue, I think this is up to the mod developer to solve.

This is still a problem...

Confirming that this is still a problem... Is there any fix for this or even will there be any fix for this?

Most likely a problem caused by the mod. The game streams on discord just fine in vanilla. I dont think there is much you can do, but mod developers tend to listen more than your usual game company, so a fix may happen sometime in the future

That's true but considering this thread was posted here more than half a year ago and this issue still occuring, I wouldn't hope for a fix at this point. Not in the near future, at least.

Same for me, but you can actually bypass it by streaming your screen on discord, and not the app, works fine for me.

I had this issue and was able to get into contact with the Cinders mod creator. They suggested toggling the
blockNetworkAccess
bit in the
modengine.ini
to 0 fixes it, and I can confirm that it does. The only caveat is to ensure your DS3 is set to boot into offline mode, otherwise you'll be banned and moved to cheater servers.

Could you provide your current modengine.ini?

Confirmed, this fixed it for me (though in my case it was a Kingdom Hearts 3 Kairi mod). My hint was that streaming the game vanilla had no problems (audio also worked correctly).

This is what I did:

1. Turn on the mod with
blockNetworkAccess=1
in
modengine.ini
2. Start the game
3. Flip the launch network setting to "Play Offline"
4. Quit the game
5. Set
blockNetworkAccess=0
in
modengine.ini
6. Start the game

Then make sure to never go online with the mod on =D

with discord when you stream your whole stream it won't use any sound is a common problem they made and haven't fixed yet. as for the not being able to stream dark souls make sure it and discord are the only thing's running on screen alt tab out of dark souls 3 into discord check to see it discord says your playing ds3 check if there is a icon that looks like a computer screen with a thing on it hover over it, if it says Stream Dark Souls III then you can stream it. Depending on how discord feels you might have to be in a server to stream dark souls at all. normally i can stream straight to my friends but sometimes i have to go into a server to stream at all.
