Ludleth of Courland missing

I'm just at the beginning of my first playthrough and Ludleth is missing. Where is he??

If he really isn't there, 100% sure, and also not after reload the area, then only it can be a weird bug.
In that case: start another char, go with him to the Firelink shrine and look for Ludleth.

I started another run with a different character and I did not find Ludleth again.

Welp, you probably did some obscure thing wrong that this supposedly 'fair' and 'not at all purposefully obtuse and misleading' game didn't like, leading to Ludleth going somewhere else/dying for no reason at all like half the other NPCs do.

Nope. Wrong place. Check ALL thrones. Open your eyes. He is sitting on a small throne.
Stay close to the bonfire and look up to the thrones. You should see him.

nope, his throne is between that one and aldritch's, is the second to the left if you are facing them.
you can also read which throne belongs to who, there is a inscription behind each throne
