having dlc only makes the ring achievement easier as ring city has many rings of the strongest form (+3 rings) but you don't need anything from either dlc it only makes them easier as you'll be stronger (you'll have to grind certain enemies for guild items as getting summoned into a world for some are horribly difficult and broken)
