How do I kill the abyss watchers

So I'm having problems with these guys, I've gotten to the second stage once out of maybe 10+ tries. I'm playing offline in singleplayer mode becaue my internet sucks, so I can't really summon help. I've heard there was an NPC I could summon but the sign is nowhere to be found...any tips?

- u need to use ember to see signs.

- when you enter lure the boss to the opposite side. This way when the other two spawn they will start fighting each other

Black Hand Gotthard is pretty good, his sign is on the stairs leading up to the boss. You need to be embered to see it & summon though.

You can backstab them pretty easily, especially during the second phase.
He does an aerial flip sometimes, you can roll under that. When the Watcher lands you can backstab him.
Pretty easy, you can do it!!

The friendly Abyss Watcher is the key to the first part of the fight. Let it do most of the work for you while you focus on staying alive and sneaking some hits in. Make use of the large arena size and strafe. Phase 2 is a dodging game. For me, the hardest part was dodging his dash and subsequent flame trail. I found sticking to his left side to be the best way to dodge it. His swings in phase 1 and 2 are pretty methodical and you should be able to get a dodge pattern down after several attempts. A good opening to attack is right after he does a big ground slam, where he'll have a recovery period to punish. Get a few swings in and back off. Abyss Watchers is a prelude to a lot of DS3's endgame bosses, where you need to keep a steady rhythm of dodges and sneak in attacks during windows of oppurtunity.

1st phase: run and let them kill themself, 2nd phase: hold distance (be naked or below 30% weight). He is very weak to hits.
