Stuck after Pit of Hollows

So after the pit of hollows and beating the big tree dude, i went down a lift to find some sort of boss using alot of frost attacks. I can't remember the name of it, after dying to it once i went and did other stuff, but now after returning the lift only goes up. I looked up a guide and it says i need to kill that boss to advance the story, but i can't find a way to get down to him anymore, does anyone know what i can do?

Lift has 2 different parts to it that are top of each other. If you want to go down just run past the lift once activating it while staying on the ground floor. Then the other part will raise to your level allowing you to decend.

Thank you! now i just have to beat him, that prob won't happen tho, i use slow wepons and you can't even summon anyone down there

Nah, that's not really a boss, more of a miniboss. He's an outrider knight, and you can pretty much just run right past him and open the door.
