Advice on dealing with Spear of the Church bossfight?

So I want to get this boss done on my own (no Patches, no summon at all).

If anyone here has succeeded in doing the same, your advice is more than welcome.

Biggest problem I have for now is dealing with the dancers. I dunno how many can be summoned, as I've seen 2 in the bossfight along with Halflight/Spear of the Church player (I don't survive for long). Is there a limit to how many dancers can be summoned? How many can be present at the same time?

I'm running a dex/faith build sl 92 so I tried Vow of Silence to at least get rid of their healing miracles.

So for now I'm stuck trying to kill the dancers asap while chipping the Spear of the Church's Hp as much as I can and as carefully as I can, but I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't just ignore them. Should I?

No summon is actually the easiest way to win there. More phantoms means both the "boss" and the dancers get higher hp, defense, and hyperarmor. With no phantoms anything can stun the dancers, and the boss gets next to no bonuses while you got 15 estus.

How did you make it past demon prince and midir?

Only two of the Painting Guardians will spawn. One before the Spear of The Church arrives, while a second one when the Spear of The Church gets to about 50-60% health. Just try and instantly kill the first Painting Guardian. You can backstab it as it spawns, just press R1 when it stands straight and it's arms are going towards its sides. Afterwards go for a fully charged R2 into R1 spam. Should be able to finish it off before the Spear fully enters the world.

Then, you can safely chip away at the Spears health until the second Painting Guardian spawns. When it does, try and focus on it, while keeping the Spear in view. Just stay close to it occasionaly doing R1's, and then go for a backstab as soon as it tries to heal.

Doing it. But that takes only 1/3 of their Hp away with hornet + lightning infused dagger...
Then Spear of the Church shows up, dancer has the time to heal, I get ganked, second dancer shows up and it becomes an unending R1 orgy to my face.

As far as the dancers go. I've only ever seen 2 summoned during that fight. I was always able to kill the first one before the 2nd one was summoned. That said, I've only ever had one dancer present along with the Spear of the Church at a time. However, a friend of mine did mention that he was killed because Spear had 2 dancers coming at him while he was trying to kill the Spear. As far as killing the Spear of the Church with a dancer, it really depends on the play style of the Spear because every Spear is different. You will have to adjust your play style for that fight because of how some Spears will (or in some cases will not) use that dancer to their advantage.

Hey, it's no problem. I know how annoying it can be against healing bosses. Also, part of the boss fight is luck. Sometimes you'll get someone really good, sometimes they'll be someone who just got accidentaly summoned.

Good luck. Oh, and if you ever want to fight the boss again, you can go to the alter in the Ringed City and revive Argo for souls. At Sl 120 it's 60k souls.

Ok so now I know that at the very worst I'm up against 3 so thx for that.

As for the playstyles, that's actually what I'm looking for. If it's Halflight that shows up I prefer letting him kill me. Because I almost never got an actuaal player as a Spear with my Sls 120.
I seem to get more now at sl 90.
