Though you could always try to trade it for something you do want with other players. Some people want that stuff.
But generally speaking, do you get more souls from simply using the soul on yourself, or by turning it into a weapon then selling it to the handmaiden? Probably just using the soul right?
What I did on my first run: I got all possible weapons, so I can try them all out. Exception is the bonetail stuff... I refuse to farm. But on every other character I knew what weapons I wanted to use, so I sold the boss souls for faster SL100-120.
