Sir Vilhelm at low levels

I'm trying to get the Onyx blade for my pyromancer. Given the amount of souls and level of upgrade materials dropping in Ashes of Ariandel, it makes you think it is a place for low levels.

However, for me it is the hardest area in Dark Souls 3 bar none. Those corvian knights in the settlement and the chapel (oh, the chapel!) are harder than half the bosses in the game even on my 100+ character. I can't even find summon signs here. Honestly, can't blame the people for not putting signs. The artificial difficulty in this lame, poorly balanced expansion is amazing. Corvian knights deal 300-400+ damage with their quill weapon special alone from a safe distance.

So, how do you beat Vilhelm at low levels to get his blade? He silences, heals, does immense damage and is able to kick and riposte your shield?

You can try to make him fall off the cliff

backstab when possible + r2 1h with some quick weapon like astora or broadsword when he tries to attack you. He tries to heal, backstab again, repeat. If it does not work I can drop you one, I have 5 or 6 on one of my chars. Oooor we can kill him together heh

I got him on a SL20 in ng+. Shoot him with a bow or crossbow from outside. If you find the right point, he will not follow you . Will need some patience and so much arrows you can carry.

Ah nvm. I found that video on how to cheese him. Too bad I had to resort to this. Doesn't make the expansion any less lame, though.

U can use the astora greatsword. If u hit with 1 fully charged r2 u can stunnlock every npc

At sl1 I baited his running attack for an ez parry 3 times. Then when he went to heal I backstabbed him twice.

Incredibly ez npc to take down

At sl12 in ng+ my tactic for him and mad pyro at the end have been to make them fall of cliff both.
