And the best weapon for that is Astora Straight Sword. It's on the high wall somewhere, I believe it's somewhere around the estus shard room. You don't have to have the faith requirement, but you will have it anyways, seeing that you are a pyro. Not having the faith will NOT decrease damage, it will just make you glance off of shields and stuff.
Want to save it for better weapons. I definitely look for that sword.
Just got the astora straight sword and infused it so far I manage to defeat that fat lady pretty fast.
I figure as much. I'm now at the point in trying to get the fireball spell. The weapons recommend including the lothic knight armor I collected is making it much more easy to take down enemies especially that fat witch. Any recommendation on what to devote my stats to atm?
After that go for at least 14 attn (you may have that much already) and go for 40 int 40 faith quickly.
Spells aren't that effective with minimum requirements. You should only use them really against bosses that are weak to fire or when you reached a cap already (40/40, or for sorcerer 60 int etc.).
I suggest NOT infusing weapons tho. Simply because if you do a pure physical build that requires less level ups, you will get more damage. Elemental infusions make you do split damage, and the scaling is weirdly low anyway. So even if you got higher AR, you will deal much less damage. Physical infusions are better overall.
So either you accept that you will deal less damage, OR you use a physical infusion (for example raw) and use weapon buffs. Or you use a physical infusion and don't buff. It's your choice.
Also there are enemies/areas where pyromancy and fire damage is very bad. In those situations you can swap to a different catalyst and use sorcery/miracles and also use a weapon that does NOT deal fire damage. Only for those parts of the game.
