Enemies crawling?
It's amazing to me that I've seen so many threads about why enemies are so huge compared to your character, specifically bosses, but it seems like nobody is questioning why they crawl around on all fours and thier limbs seem accustomed to that kind of movement, yet they are perfectly capable of standing up straight?

Just wondering.

Vordt, the Dancer, the prince guy, even the Dragon King dude goes on all fours at some point, not to mention Ice knights.

All bosses and enemies are corrupted in some way, maybe it's because of that. There are cursed undead, and there is the thing with everyone that comes from irithyll, they seem to be transformed in some sort of beasts (that what says in the pontiff eye rings description) and there's the failed dragons everywhere...

then we got thous bird people crawling on the floor in the dlc, is there more creatures crawling? Oh yes indeed if you meant by crawling by belly or either like lizard, that be

- crystal lizard (small and big)
- Stone lizard
- wolfin holy man guy (the boss who is skeleton if you touch the cup)
- thous slug people

Pretty much thous crawl on their belly and use their arms as well. So pretty much that is the funny thing to say .... well yes I know lothric's prince and other one is one of it, but not really sure it is.

So yea u didn't know about how many thing crawls and trying you to kill you while your standing looking at them in greif because they are cripple people. Just do not feel bad about them, because in the world of hallows, they are totally an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the end.

Because all of them are insane undead monsters after a lifetime of suffering and watching their whole world go ♥♥♥♥ again and again. You expect them to dance around all jolly and gay?

I was, for the most part, talking about the OBVIOUSLY HUMAN-ISH enemies, like the Dancer, who even stands straight up at times.

It would sort of seem that they've descended into beasts, as even Vordt roars at you.

Also, their armor, I've noticed, is made as if they were standing up straight. There are no plates of armor protecting the back of their thighs/calves, only the front.
you can see vordt and dancer's 'ghost' in irythill walking down the street. as if they were normal standing pontiff knights but as others mention they turned rather beastly

Disregarding all the lore reasoning, the real answer is Bloodborne. The same reason the corovians are screaming and sprouting wings with blood sprouting out of them as they do.
The Outrider knights (The guys with ice swords and spew frost everywhere) are once normal knights of Irithyll but turned into horrible beasts by Pontiff Sulyvahn (That actually got a straight back). Vordt of the Borreal Valley and Dancer are also turned into these monsters by Sulyvahnn.

You can see Outrider Knights and Dancers normal phases in Irithyll at some stairs casually walking through as ghosts.. very spookylike.

One has to wonder how the Pontiff himself hasn't been turned into one of these. He's essentially the male Dancer, no?
Washing Machine Dec 3, 2016 @ 12:54pm
The rings he gave the knights were meant to turn them into beasts, more loyal to his cause.
Of course he ain't gonna do that to himself.
Altho I think in his 2nd phase he sort of succumbs into the dark, since he grows roots out of himself. And roots in DS3 = bad bad bad things.
