Can't use red eye orb

I'm new to this, and i'm sure it's Somthing obvious, but I can't get my red eye orb to work. I've tried it with a level 153 character in new game + that was previously offline. I'm not seeing summon signs or invasion signs either. I am seeing phantoms, blood stains, and messages. When I try to use any multiplayer items I can select "use" but I can't click it. Any help will be greatly appreciated

First of all try to disable and enable online mode again, maybe restart steam (works in 90% of problems with steam games). Then if it doesn't work, check for missing game files, maybe that helps. If all fails check from for server problems (I don't think that it'll be that tho).

What area are you trying to use it in? Certain areas you can't invade

What area are you trying to use it in? Certain areas you can't invade

Still in those he can see summon signs he can.
