I just accidentally killed the Handmaid.
And in a fit of insanity induced laughter I killed the Fire Keeper.

So I guess now I just have to get into NG+ with what I have, right?

They both respawn. Though I believe the Handmaid charges extra for items after every time you kill her.

This is true. Killing Fire Keeper has no penalties but killing Handmaid will increase the cost of items.

But whatever you do, do NOT kill Andre or he will refuse to help you until next NG+.

Killing Firekeeper does nothing (killing her is fun, I do it all the time!)
Killing Handmaid increases cost of her items
Killing Andre ♥♥♥♥♥ you up and you can't upgrade weapons till ng+
Killing any other npc is a bad idea.

it was an accident I put my controller down and R1'd into the Handmaid, and I just started laughing and was like "♥♥♥♥ IT ALL" and killed the Fire Keeper too to see what would happen.

If you attacked andre in ds1. He would pummel you to death using his fists. Have you seen his dropkick? Or his punches?

Actually never played DS1. DS2 was my first in the series and never even got very far into it. Then when Dark Souls 3 came out, a generous stranger gifted it to me and I've fallen in love with it since.

Play ds1. The PC port maybe horrible. But, if you install a few things, it's a legitmantely good game. It has a slower pace than ds3. But it's still a great game. DS2 is good too. Although it has alot of flaws. The biggest one being soul memory. But it's still a good game.

Also, don't attack andre in ds1. Or the following things I described will come. Don't attack him in ds3 or he will refuse to smith. In fact, don't attack any blacksmith's. Instead, thank them for upgrading your weapons and decrease the chance of death whenever you continue on in dark souls.

You can actually do some abstination quest to make Andre forgive you and start forging again. Somewhere near the undead settlement? I had to do that at some point and it cost me 220K souls.

Go to Velka in the undead settlement and request absolution. This happened to me a while back.
Also, remember that she will charge you 20% more souls if you kill her.
