Archer PvE builds

I wanna know a good gear and stat setup for a PvE archer. I'm still early game (just beat the curse rotted greatwood) so I won't have much but maybe like something to wear now & something to build towards? Also, I'm gonna be purely PvE, since I am never connected to the internet, I won't get invaded or invade others. I also don't have any of the updates or patches (I'm on 1.0) so any nerfs or buffs don't apply either and I'm on PS4

I assume that you don't have any of the dlc's.

Early on, if you can kill your "friendly neighborhood" giant, he'll get you the Hawk Ring, which increases the range of bows. My favorite bow is the composite bow, because of the ability fire a quickshot immediately after rolling. The Black Bow of Pharis is best for sniping.

Dark arrows are the only "homing" arrows. When you use then with the Black Bow's weapon art, all three arrows will conjoin on the target, instead of the normal spread.

However, if you are looking for straight AR, the Dragonrider Bow will always be highest regardless of dex, so long as you have the 19 strength to weild it.

Get the black bow of pharis. Get dark arrows. Spam weaponart. If you want pure ar per shot. Get the dragonrider bow. And get the onislayer greatbow for the pain train. Along with dragonslayer arrows.

Or you could run a hyper mode Snipe build. Works wonders

Around 1000 + damage per shot ( with the dragonslayer greatbow, I can't say about the others )
