What's the best strength weapons for PvE

Great club or smough's / ledo's hammer for ... hammers

Black knight great axe / black knight ultra greatsword

Greatsword / Cathredral knight greatsword ( if you prefer pokes over sweeps )

Dragon slayer greataxe

can't think of much else

it's my fav weapon; can tank through a giant's hits, launch enemies into the oblivion, or slam them down to hell. (you get extra badass points for using R2 moves)
fume ultra greatsword
this isnt an ultra greatsword, its a piece of rock with a handle. it's designed for pure str characters and it has really good damage (but boring animations)
there are plenty of other weapons but these two are i think just fun to play with, entire playthroughs. you can try something like ledo's great hammer which you need 60 str to use, but is powerful and fun. (i never got to use it cause of how much str it needs but seen people have fun)

I was thinking BKG because of its great moveset. Fume sounds good too though. I was planning on going all the way to 66 str so i'll be able to use any strength weapon.

fume ultra greatsword is easy to get, but you may need to farm black knights for the black knight greatsword; i suggest you try their movesets before you upgrade so you can stick around without any regrets.
if you have that much str then you should go for fume for the ultra greatsword, because black knight greatsword requires some dexterity and scales with it as well.
some other options are: dragonslayer greataxe (greataxes are boring imo, they have ugly moveset),mace(just the regular one, scales well with str and you can tank through hits with its weapon art but is a short weapon),dragon tooth (needs a lot of str but has kinda awkward and slow moveset)
you could also just use caestus and slam dunk enemies. it's fun but you need to learn how to play with it.
