Same case was within the land of Drangelic.Dark souls II , the Longsword ,deadly, fast and effecient against anything.
It seems straight swords are favoured weapons of most players.
Also, the reason people's favorite weapons are varied so much is because that most weapons are balanced to an extent. Sure, a broken straight sword isn't good but mainly the weapons are balanced.
irithyll straight sword seems as reliable weapon. I love the frostbite effect. One of the very weapons capable of inflictin frost damage.
2 hits with Vordt's Great Hammer pretty much frostbites anything since its buff to 110 frost
While the Lothric Knight Sword is the strongest Straight Sword, that doesn't necessarily make it the best.
Not to mention the weapons in nearly every other category that outclass it!
I would think more of the normal Longsword due to small requirements, but still good scaling on for example dark infusion, making a good weapon for lower levels. Also the gotthards are really great. The Broadsword raw infused is also pretty good for lower levels and heavy infused for later.
Are Anri and Astora really good? I would even say they are at the bottom of the straight swords
Astora's is just terrible since it got patched, literally no reason to use it over a standard Longsword.
