If the Jester's set from Dark Souls 2 was in Dark Souls 3...
How would that make you feel? I know a lot of you would be super triggered by that but I think we can all agree that it would look amazing with dark souls 3 graphics. Also don't you think Jester Thomas showing up in dark souls 3 as a npc you could talk to would be awesome? Or if he just invaded you at some point during the game? Maybe in the Ringed City DLC since you can summon him in Earthen Peak in Dark Souls 2. That would have made the Earthen Peak part of the dlc even more awesome.

Now I bet there are some of you who haven't even played Dark Souls 2 which is f*cking ridiculous but since you don't know jack sh*t about DaS2 take a look at the wiki for the Jester's Set. Particularly the chest piece :steammocking: :steamsalty:.

http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Jester%27s+Set

I love the description for this armor set:

"A boldly-colored jester's cap/robe/gloves/tights. A nice bit of fun to try on..."
"Jesters are more than festival fixtures. Some have a second face, hidden from public view."

There's a cut armor set still in the code that does the same thing. The large enemies in the undead settlement with the door on the back. That armor was going to be available but was cut, for good reason.
Back stab negation that early in the game would be down right ♥♥♥♥♥ and they knew it too.

It should return, but as the extremely heavy Ironclad armor. Jester's wasn't the only back-stab preventing top. :P

Oh trust me I know this. I did plenty of poise monster turtle knight builds in dark souls 2. I f*cking love that armor set (not just the chest piece). I frequently smashed people into the ground with a demon's greathammer.

The only reason I didn't mention it is because real poise doesn't exist in dark souls 3. Poise is the second main reason why used the Ironclad armor set. In dark souls 2 with a high amount of adp, a fully upgraded heavy armor set like the ironclad set, and at least ring of giants+1 you can have dark souls 1 level poise. Despite what people say about heavy armor in dark souls 3 at least you would have more physical defense.

Oh right you can't backstab those guys because of that wooden sh*t on their back.

That set looked ugly as hell.

Well it was definitely more about function than fashion. Each piece of the set did a specific thing. That's pretty rare in the dark souls universe for each piece of an armor set to have an enchantment. I think it would look pretty good in dark souls 3 though.

I'd be fine with it if it was just cosmetic just like every other piece of gear. If it was in DS1 I wouldn't mind it thanks to Backstabs being stupid in that game, but in DS3 the only time someone gets backstabed is if it's their fault. That and if you're really that scared of backstabs have an open ring slot and eq swap to the dragonscale ring against fishers.

EDIT: I also believe Dragonscale reduces damage against parries and other criticals, but I'm not sure.

Ummm, that would be a tiny bit.. overpowered. It would be the go to set for invaders and everybody would have it. And eventually the effects would be removed due to complaints. And eventually, it will just be an ugly set of clothes.

If it was in dark souls 3 and then the anti-backstab enchantment got removed I'd be so f*cking mad. Miyazaki already ruined one of my favorite weapons from Dark Souls 1 by removing it's lightning damage/faith scaling (the Crescent Axe). The Crescent axe was a really good faith weapon in dark souls 1 (for PVE). It's moveset was alright but the damage was more than decent. With maybe 40 strength and 40 faith and it fully upgraded I remember doing around 800 damage to a black knight with a riposte. It's an old build I haven't played in awhile so I might have actually have higher stats than that. Then In Dark Souls 2 they made it a INT weapon for some reason (like a certain popular crescent weapon from Demon's Souls). But in Dark Douls 3 they removed any sort of magic damage/scaling from it. That really bugs me.

Having that kind of effect on an otherwise mediocre bit of armor would make it a must-have for invasions. Why would I let people backstab me when I can instead... not? Same with the fall damage boots or whatever piece gives that effect.

Even if the jester chest piece existed in dark souls 3 with the anti-backstab enchantment on it there would be some people who would choose their fashion souls over preventing backstabs. You bet your a** that people who didn't care about pvp with would basically be wearing it all the time, lol. That'd be fine with me tbh. Getting backstabbed is embarrasing/annoying.

It's definitely annoying, but it's caused by a mistake on the player's part, or lag. The latter also affects plenty of other, more annoying stuff, but I still think backstabs deserve a place in the game. They're a tool to counter specific other things, and that's pretty good.

Without the backstab. Dear Freide would be an extreme pain.
