Have you already checked the game's cache with steam?

yeah. game works normally when loaded, and I don't notice any crash when I close it, but windows logs this error each time.
It seems you need to uninstall the nvidia drivers (you have nvidia, right?) and install the latest ones, or try another version if you already had the latest.
Same.
400h no issues and now 6 months later i get the same error
weidly my pld windows 7 laptop was fine. issue only started on my newly built windows 10 desktop.
did you found a fix?
with win10 1607 it was fine but now with 1803 i get this error

(sry for poor english :) )
most likely DS3 pirated
no. bought the game @ 24.6.2016 on Steam ;)
no fix and no, not pirated...
Try running SFC (System File Check) from CMD. Run CMD as admin and type: sfc /scannow

That's to make sure no Windows files are corrupted, but my guess would be a driver aswell. Which one? Needle in a haystack. I'd start with obvious ones such as GPU and Audio.

tried all that including OS reinstalls. sfc found nothing and the driver verifier also passed. its a head scratcher.

+1 same. everything is okay.
And ds3 is the only game with the problem

that sucks. -.-
I feel for you. It is super frustrating to deal with these issues especially when it's not widespread.

Errrr, does the crash also happen in Windowed mode? I'm obviously not asking you to play the whole game in a window, but if that at least stops it from crashing on exit that would be a step in the right direction.
