To those constantly asking for help for bosses and co-op
Be aware that every minute spent while fighting boss with phantoms or going through the area in co-op teaches you in a way that is almost useless for future solo or pvp. Here is why: coop is cool but you basically learn how to beat an enemy or a boss while he is focusing on your phantom and run away when he focuses on you. While it works sometimes in 2v1 PvP for host and phantom, you actually get no other benefits from all of that. You do not git gud.

I do not tell you how to play, but consider getting skilled. Making a phantom distract boss from you or letting you backstab knights will not save you, will not help you in any way to get better at the game. We see it quite a lot, when people who have beaten the game actually have no chance against most bosses on their own. Needless to say, they are smashed in any PvP encounters, specially when left alone. And they will never learn, because those 20h+++ of playthrough taught them how to distract and backstab, but not how to fight.

Go for it bois, git gut, play solo more, beat more bosses solo, make a character that will complete all dark souls 3 without any help, and then, when gut, come to our invasions, ganks, fight clubs as a proud dark soul, not as that helpless worm rolling around the bonfire trying to resummon his dead phantoms.

P.s. I will never stop helping people with bosses. Though, i hope, when my mage takes the boss down dealing 95% of his hp pool alone, some of you get the idea that you haven't really defeated the boss yet.

Salty about what?

I agree. It disappoints me when people summon on their first playthrough.

If it is a mandatory boss, and you've died 50+ times without coming close, and you've looked up guides and everything. A summon is fine.

But asking for help on an optional boss before you even fight them twice is ridiculous. It's annoying when someone asks for help only to die 5 seconds into the fight to a move they've never seen before.

Like please, just don't do that, it's annoying.

If it's an optional boss, just come back later, when you're stronger.
If it's mandatory, just keep trying, or go kill an optional boss for souls.

If you ask for help with early dancer, let us know it's early.
I hate getting summoned to help people with dancer, only to have 500 hp, and deal no dmg.

Basically, try the fight on your own, or let us know the details before asking for summons.

Who cares if other people learn how to fight bosses or not? Maybe they do not want to learn, maybe they have other plans and views. When I am summoned I always think that it is a good opportunity to have fun and/or get souls. Long live to hosts!

Someone didn't read the post. Or most likely interpritated it wrong.

Agreed... Cooperation in Dark Souls games is NOT mandatory. At all.
The cooperation was added as a measure for people when they cant beat the boss / area themselves despite multiple attempts.

The only enemy that ever forced me to do this was Pontiff Sulyvahn. After about 5-10 attempts to defeat him solo, only to die and get consumed by unimaginable rage - only then i summoned a bunch of people to help me who destroyed the guy without me even doing anything, i just stood aside and watched.

That said, now i make it my duty to defeat him solo. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it a fun worthy fiight.
I totally agree. AT LEAST beat the game solo once, then summon all you want. If you're only gonna play a bit casually and beat the game once or twice, whatever. But if you invest into the game and don't have the time to do it for yourself, what are you playing this game for? You can't get the full experience without the struggles and the close victories you get in a solo playthrough. Everyone sucked at one point, you just have to go through the learning process.

Because then I get summoned into an unexperienced player's world later on, who's been summoning for every boss. And they don't know how to dodge properly, and they die instantly. I wish there was a no co-op boss in this game. Like imagine if the last boss was a no co-op boss. That would be fantastic. Big F U to all the people who summoned through the whole game, only to screenshot the end and claim they beat dark souls.

There is a boss like that...
Its called Spear of the Church.

Except its not that they forbid summoning, but the Spear becomes a lot stronger if there are summons, including getting a free classic poise.
An experienced spear with anti-gank buffs is a very dangerous foe, even for an experienced players, let alone newbies...

I still remember that one fight when 5 seconds into the "fight" i made a kill right after i've spawned against 3 people and instantly made it 2v1 while retaining buffs from 3v1.
It was good time...

Yeah, nothing better than spanking a gank squad. Especially when you parry one while the other two watch, and you take all his health, killing him.

Ever had some morons who didn't actually kill the guardians? I was just getting healed the whole fight while he got knives in the back from the other, he just wouldn't kill them.

But Midir is hard

I personally find it fun to have a friend to help i understand trail by error thing but there are some folks who don't watch youtubers go to guides or do class spacific builds so trail by error/fire is a pain in the ass at times BUT i do understand fully what you mean by soloing the game first to get the experiance

PS had the joy of going thoure Demon Souls and Dark souls alone so having help was a joy with what little i played DS2 i guess in a way my outlook is void because i enjoy Cooperation NG+ or not ^_^

Eh. Practice makes perfect. The only difficult thing about him is his health pool, and his big laser ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after 50%. If you keep his back to a wall though, he'll never use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ laser, and his health is what makes it fun. He's predictable, and his moves are easily distinguishable. Just practice a few times. Eventually you'll be beating him with your bare fists.

I enjoy some co-operation, but I think people do it too quickly. People who summon for a boss before trying it a 2nd time actually disgust me. If you're just playing through with friends, that's a different story. But dying to Nameless King once and saying "Welp, gotta go look up a guide, and post a thread" is ridiculous. Not only are you screwing yourself over, but you're screwing over your summons. You won't know about the downward breath attack, or to do the first phase unlocked. You'll die no matter how much they carry, unless you just run away, in which case, you payed $60 so someone else could play the game for you. Congrats.

brilliant! you win a year's supply of condoms, which in your case is one.

gotta garee with OP though, inbetween ds1 and ds3 it went from overcoming a challenge to 'I need three phantoms and way of the blue because you are abusing my human right's by invading me'. I guess that's what happens when a series gets too popular, I saw some guy earlier on here asking to get help in advance for a boss he hadn't even fought once yet...embarassing.

So, don't play a co-op game with people to make friends. Gotcha.
