Why is co-op so bad?
Me and my brother bought DS3. The main reason for it was that we could play together. We both got to Firelink Shrine, searched for a video for how to play coop, went to The High Wall of Lothric and got it working. Sweet! We went on to kill something aaaand "ass" has invaded the world. He had a giant fire sword and killed us in seconds. So we used another ember, got into coop aaaand the same thing has happened. Same name, this time he had like 50 fire bombs (no exaduration), that he kept throwing at us. he killed us. We USED ANOTHER EMBER, PLACED ANOTHER WHITE SIGN SOAPSTONE, WAITED UNTIL MY BROTHER COULD ACTUALLY SEE IT and joined AGAIN. This time noone showed up. It was good. But still, why do they have to artificially inflate the difficulty by forcing you to PvP every 10 MINUTES? I don't want to get carried. I want to play the game with my brother. Divide our damage by (2^(number of players except for the host)). Make it (20^(number of players except for the host)). Just don't force me to PVP! I don't want that! Make it My next issue: say you got far, you unlocked a shortcut and you have no Estus flasks left. You're f*cked! All you can do is light a bonfire. YOU CAN'T REST, SO YOU'RE FORCED TO DIE. Even with those thing I mentioned, when you join, guess what? You have half your Estus Flasks. BUT! The worst thing is, THAT EVEN WHEN YOU LIGHT THE DAMN BONFIRE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO REST, THE BONFIRE DOESN'T LIGHT UP FOR THE PLAYER JOINED! WHYYYYY? Someone had to sit down and say to himself: "Oh, these idiots wanna experience the game together? Let's make it, so that when they light a bonfire, the bonfire doesn't light up for the joined player, so that when they die, one of the r3t4rds, that play the game coop will have to SOLO come to the place where the second player is, just so he can use ANOTHER G0D DAMN EMBER". What I just said ALWAYS happens! Because you know, YOU CAN'T REST!! Also the joined player can't interact and he can't collect items. Every single time you find a new bonfire your health is 1, you have no Estus Flasks and WHAT DO YOU KNOW? YOU CAN'T RESTORE IT! I hate it! I despise this system! I don't care about the atmosphere.
I don't wanna feel like the only thing that can help me is me myself. I JUST WANNA PLAY THE GAME WITH MY G0D DAMN BROTHER, BECAUSE WE BOTH LOVE THE GAME AND WE ARE SITTING LITERALLY 4 METERS FROM EACH OTHER. WHY IS COOP SO BAD?!

This game is in general designed to not to revolve around what you want from it. You are expected to git gud, and fight your way to the linking of fire. Go offline, play it without invasions, proceed to the next bonfires, defeat all the bosses. If you wanna play with someone, you have to play with anyone. It was _specially_ designed this way so you will not be able to play it comfortably with phantoms without risk of getting invaded. Nobody cares if you like it or not. Literally noone: game designers, other players, random people on the internet - nobody. Play it or quit it.

P.s. Some helpful tips though for you, girls.

Invasion is restricted by weapon enchancements and level range. You cannot be invaded by someone much higher/lower than you in levels, same with weapons, if you have +0 weapons, generally people with +3 weapons and such cannot invade.

So if you don't enchant your weapons, or dont level up, soon enough you will not face any invaders at all. Another suggestion is, ask someone to get you lots of souls, and level up A LOT. Say, get to SL 200 by leveling, for example, luck and faith to 99 (if you dont use it). You will not get MUCH tougher than an average lvl 30 guy in terms of power, but you will face little to none invaders. Hell, i can even help you with them souls, since you are two, wont be a problem for you to get any soul level you want. Playing on SL 200 with +0 weapons will GUARANTEE nobody is going to invade you.

The game is already biased towards host so much that many stopped invading (can see it on dry-fingure runs when get invaded by the same guy over and over).

As for your problem:

^this is actually possible. What you should do is not to upgrade your weapon (or at least later on keep it way below the normal range, never go above +6 or even +5).

If you stay at weapon upgrade way low comparing to your level - none would invade you, you will have as you wanterd roughly half dps and you can play together in peace.

Edit: looks like while I was typing the answer was already given to you^/..

The game is also made in such a way where the invader cannot be stronger than you. E.g there are rules to do with player level and weapon upgrade level that keep it all in Your favour so if your losing it is deserved and fair.
This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is hilarious to hear. Wanna kill vordt and face an SL 25 twink with Prisoner's chain, +10 flasks and +3 rings? Fair fight when you have a half of its stamina, armor, health, estus and damage.

Stop spreading lies if you have no idea how it works.

Damage output and stats are reduced to match Host if you summon someone with a password, say a SL25 guy summons SL120 friend to help him kill Dancer early - this way SL120 guy will have his stats and weapon damage greately reduced.

If we talk about invasions, stats and damage outputs are not reduced, and having +3 rings is just ignored, gear is not taken into any concideration. Set of +3 rings makes you twice as strong as a guy with no rings.
Thank you for the replies, but the main point I had was that the bonfires lit don't light up for the joined player. Also I mentioned the invaders because they come, they make you waste your estus flasks (if they don't kill you) and because you can't rest you have to just restart.

Please see my second reply above.

Also to be able to invade you have to match the hosts weapon upgrade level -/+2 and be near the character level, you can find the formula on the wiki.

As such, what I'm saying is no lie
I did. You are spreading lies, perhaps because you've never played an SL 25 twink before. To fix your ignorance i ll show it to you on my example in around 5 minutes with screenshots.

This game is designed to be played alone. If you think it is too hard, git gud or go play an easier game. Invaders balance things so you are not carried through the game with ease by you phantoms.

There is a fun fact: deprived class can leave the shrine for the 1st time to the high wall being sl 16 with 25 vit without any soul farming, just clear the area and sell a couple of embers you can pick there. All one has to do after that is rush those broadsword and make it raw +2, takes few min -> done.

That is around 1270 hp and 180 ar on a fast hitting weapon (or around so), no invader will have health anywhere close to that at that level, so even if their dps is slightly higher they will lose in health*dps coefficient.

+statistically invaders are much lower level which is extremely visible at low sl.

Now the real advantage they might have is the estus, that actually make a difference, but here is another fun fact: new chat that only entered the high wall can not get invaded untill he summons a phantom, use dry fingures, invade himself or do some other online interaction. So in any case the host does not have to get invaded before getting phantoms or the way of blue which compensates for the lower estus amount.

My build is sub-optimal, so those are not even best results you can get.

No rings

Rings

Hp from 993 to 1435 (+45%)
Stamina from 100 to 123 (+23%)
Physical Protection from 100% to 105% + Absorption, up to +10(+15) %

If you think this will be a fair fight you win only because the loser has to git gud, you're an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, sorry.

I don't think it's hard. I don't want it to be easier and I don't want to be carried.

Yet again after reading your replies, if you say a newbie that loses to a twink has to git gud because the game makes it easy for noob to kill a twink: ♥♥♥♥ you, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Seriously. Go ♥♥♥♥ yourself.

+45% hp = a little extra hp. wow...

How many R1 hits with a straight sword do you think my character (that you see on screen) survives from an average guy in halfway fortress and how many backstabs does he need to kill me?

Why do you guys comparing host vs invader of the same level? The game always try to match invader with as high sl host as possible.

At sl 25 invader would on average (even excluding the game bias) be invading sl 35, so you need to compare to that.

Also, ember+starting life ring = +40% hp.

For you, it all boils down to damage. My point is if your going to get hit there's a chance you'll die. If your enemy is stronger then you have less chances to get it.

So you are unfamiliar with the game i see. Okay, let me explain. When you get hit, there is no chance you will die. You do take damage, and its not chance-based. The ammount of damage you take depends on enemy attack and your defence. Damage taken reduces your health and if it is reduced to 0 or below - you die. It is not chance based, either. You will lose hp when you take damage and when it gets to 0 you will die (or proc tears), and then die. Hope now it will be easier for you to compare damage and hp.

As to the " If your enemy is stronger then you have less chances to get it." - this as a whole makes no sense. When my opponent is stronger, my chances of getting hit are in fact higher, of course, not lower. But perhaps you are also unfamiliar with english language and you just cannot explain yourself.
