DS1 didn't really have many "dudes in armor". They had the demons, but they were 5 times your size and looked impressive. DS2 has a bunch of dudes in armor, just a little bigger than you. And ripoffs of DS1.

DS2 has about 40 bosses. Of these, 14 are "big guys in armour". 24 (those 14 included) are "humanoid". Hence why I said a nearly even split.
DS1 has something like 25 bosses. Of these, I'd say that 12 count as non-humanoid. Again, why I said a nearly even split.
Understand now?
Which ones are the humanoids in DS1? Gwyn, O&S, Artorias, Iron Golem, who else? It's been a while, so don't crucify me. I don't really count the Demons as humanoid.
Isn't fresh. Most of them move their swords so slow, and have little variety with moves. Looking Glass Knight looks awesome, but the only difficult part is if your invader is laggy, or you aren't good at PvP. The actual guy himself is slow, and doesn't deal enough dmg too fast to make you scared. I'd rather have some pretty fast dude who jumps around, like Nameless King, or Gael. Or some big monstrous thing, like Midir, or Demon Prince. I don't want some Dragonrider who can hardly move, and falls off the arena half the time.
I'm pretty sure it's just a joke at this point.
Strictly humanoids would be Capra, Priscilla, Gwyndolin, Kenan & Kel, Four Kings, Gwyn, Iron Golem, and Artorias.
If you include "not human, but still bipedal weapon-wielding guys" (as I did by counting DS2's Last Giant, et al.), you could add Asylum Demon 1, 2, and 3 to that list, along with Taurus and possibly Nito.
2: DS3 and BB tied
3: DS2
Can't rank Demon's Souls, as I don't have the means to play it
When you take a boss and give him a mechanic that involves more than just dodging and hitting you need to give it a really good idea in a game about dodging and hitting. The Chariot is probably my favorite because of how tense the situation is, there are skeletons blocking your way, you can hear the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing closing in on you, and when you crash the chariot the big reveal of it being the horse was actually kind of shocking.
2: Dark Souls 3
3: Dark Souls 1
4: Dark Souls 2
5: Demons' Souls
Demons' Souls was a great game, but by god, was the PvP literally aids. Nothing but Stormrulers and Scraping Spears, as well as infinite immediate-heals. No reason to do any of that again. Darksouls 1 was by far better than 2 in everythng but gameplay mechanics, but Bloodborne and DS3 both beat everything by a mile.
Bloodborne- Does what dks3 sort of tries to do but is alot more original and I like the Lovecraftian setting
Dks2/Demon souls- Both seem to play a bit slower than the others I think dks2 gets unfairly ♥♥♥♥ on, dks2 pvp is the best and most diverse in the series and DeS's is best forgotten ;)
Dks3- Good but very linear and the weapons are very samey and I think the fast paced combat is done better in bloodborne
2. dark souls 1. the first half of ds1 is as perfect as a game gets and is the one we remember, the human brain has a function to forget the bad things in life DS1 SECOND HALF IS TRAUMATIZINGLY BAD! but the conclusion is good. unlike ds2.
1 dark souls 3. dark souls 3 takes the level design of the first half of ds1 the pvp of ds2 the fast paced combat of bloodborne and the complex design of the bosses from demon souls and improves on it.
havent played bb and demon souls but i think bb would be third and demon souls 4th
There's something not so satisfying about having teleportation on the get go.
