Why are there no dragon weapons?
I know that there is only one true dragon in the game however there still are drakes and drakes can still drop dragon weapons. For example: the hellkite drake. He drops a dragon weapon when you cut his tail off.

Moonlight Greatsword, Storm Curved Sword, Dragon Tooth, Tailbone Short Sword, Tailbone Spear.

No Dragon weapons???

It was a cool mechanic but it was absolutely awfully implimented. If it was harder to hit but chopped off in one hit, it'd be much better.

He means weapons you get from cutting off the tail of a dragon/drake/wyvern. Not dragon related weapons.

Perhaps OP wanted it to be like Dark Souls 1 in which we cut off tails of dragons/bosses and received weapons.

So far, the only dragon we face in this game is Dear Midir - so that's a nope.

You can also blame Dark Souls 2 for retconning Dragon lore. There's a reason you had to obtain boss weapons through different means when it was a Dragon in DS1.

When you kill Ocerios, he drops what appears to be a sorcery staff. Or he no longer has it. It would have fit the script, if he dropped a weapon!

Well in that case, it would be weird to receive the Frayed Blade from chopping off Midir's tail now wouldn't it?

That one I haven't played *yet*. I'll surely bawl when I farm them, perhaps. ;_;

Yup, it would, but it could be an alternative. If you like dex you can transpose his soul into the frayed blade. If you are leaning towards strength then cut its tail off. It would drop an ultra gs or something similar.

Yes, Dark Souls 1. This is a Dark Souls 3 discussion? Not sure why you're mentioning that here even - I know about the dragon weapons of 1, I've had them all.

Eh, just wondering why they aren't in three.

People didn't like the tailcutting mechanic.

After Seath and Kalameet, I'm inclined to agree.
