PS4 controller acting like a mouse?

I just tried to play the game with my PS4 controller and its acting like a motion controled mouse, this is annoying.
I know ive played with it at least once or twice before dropping the game for a bit, so I have no idea whats happening.
Does anyone know the solution to fixing this? Cause no one in the forums I've looked up seems to have a clear solution.

go into steam big picture mode
edit controller settings
load community profile
use the most popular one its called something like "controls like PS4" or something like that

You may be bumping the touch pad. When I used my PS4 controller the touch pad would send the screen on the fritz. It freaked the crap out of me; I thought my game was broken.

Unfortunately I don't know of a solution. I just went and picked up a Logitech gamepad for $15 which works excellent.

sorry to be less confusing - you have to edit the controller settings from the menu after you select DS3 in big picture mode - that will let you change the profile

Bro.. no, deffo not the touch pad.. i just move my controller around then it acts like there is something picking up motion sensor.. super wierd, dont even have the PS eye or whatever.. super wierd

I fixed this the other day. You have to go into big picture mode and specifically go to Dark Souls III in your library to change the controller settings.
