[Potential Spoiler?] Ariandel chapel is burning?

I've killed slave knight gael and went back to ariandel chapel to give the dark soul black blood(?), and when i arrived it was burning?? it wasnt burning when i leave the place. any theories to the burnig of the chapel? also im at ng+ and didnt do any DLC on my first playtrough (my english is bad, i know)

So, just to clarify it you´re confused by the fact that you went into the painted world with the mission to set it ablaze, followed by beating friede and her dad and setting the place on fire as intented, right?
