Duplicating a save file?
Is this possible? I've heard of people backing up their save files by copying the character file into a seperate folder, and then pasting them back in when they want it. Could this process be safely used to create two save files? I got to 120 with my pyromancer at the end of the game and I would want to go into NG+ and keep levelling. However, that would mean I'd need to run a whole new character to once again participate in PvP. I don't mind that for other builds, and I am doing it for a dedicated kirk cosplay build but I dont want to be forced to do another playthrough as a pyromancer in order to go into NG+ and keep leveling.

It's safe.
Yes you can do it and it can also be used to expand the stupid limit of ten save slots. But it only works on the same steam account.

so just copy and paste into the same folder and a new, perfectly duplicate save file will appear in game?

%appdata% into your windows search bar, open roaming, open DS3, open the folder with numbers, copy that 000ds3 whatever to where you want it. that contains all 10 saves.
