Poise for PVE?
What's a good amount for pve? At least for 1h weapons, or great weapons, or ultra great. Idk, still new. Just don't wannt gimp myself with fasion souls.

Yes, still new with 344 hours. I really like this game despite being a nooby scrublord, okay!?

poise is meaningless, honestly

Can you elaborate further? Poise in PVE isn't a good idea in my opinion if you can't tank the hits,

nothing can be best than rolling
check this out, as i suck at explaining complex things

Poise isn't meaningless, but for PvE you should mostly just not get hit. And poise is obviously useful only if you get hit.

Against dogs any hyperarmor move is efficient, those are the only thing that may require hit trading really.

In my opinion hit and run at PVE is the best option, because rolling at the right time = zero damage. Unless you could trade hits and make them down first. Poise in the game help you trade at your first attack

I dunno, I guess poise for the general enemy's you'll face inbetween bosses?
And then poise for bosses, though I've fought most (...maybe all, idk) with just rolling, does poise help any, or at least enough to justify going for heavy armor?

Wow, ty for all the replies in such a quick timespan, didn't expect that, lmao.

Poise is absolutely viable in PvE so long as you have 25+ poise with a great weapon (I prefer UGS over Great Hammers and GreatAxes), and 30+ Vigor. You can simply poisebreak most enemies before they hit you (or worst case, your 2nd hit), including bosses. Even Nameless King crumbles to repeated UGS attacks to the back.

32+ poise is always very nice to have, because it lets you tank a hit from an UGS when using Greathammers.

it's viable with heavy weapons, if you fight light weapons like daggers or straight swords.

If you use daggers/straight swords, then it's not viable I take it?

Light weapons have low poise attack boost, which means you'll probably get interrupted even by same weight category weapon.

In that case, it's completely useless, actually. Poise is only in effect during certain frames of big weapons' swings and selected weaponarts. The amout of Poise determines whether you'll get stunned by the hit or just tank it like a champ.

Most weaponarts are highly effective regarding Poise though. So you don't need lots of Poise to make the stagger-immunity really strong. Like for example the Onislayer weaponart of the twin katanas, it's absurd how little poise you need to tank through any attack.

Another way of gaining "Poise" for small weapons is to equip any weapon with the Perseverance weaponart, use said weaponart and then quickly swap to your main (poiseless) weapon like a Straight Sword. It'll only last very shortly, but you're unstaggerable.

Ah I see, thank you very much for explaining that.
