Current Meta Weapons?

Hey, I am about to dive into NG+ and I would like to know which weapons should I give a try to, and what weapons should I upgrade, before I confirm my Journey n.2.
I prefer STR weapons over DEX, but you can recommend me those also.

It's strong against slow weapons, but your opponent can easily switch to something faster or dual wield to account for that. It doesn't blow people away in 1v1 duels or you'd see a lot more of them. The riposte damage is ridiculous though.

Step 2:
Search the weapon you feel will be powerful for your build on YouTube attaching the acronym 'pvp.' This will help you check whether that weapon is viable, or utter trash.

Step 3:
Practice with that weapon, against other weapons, until you're bashing your face against the keyboard with agitation and dismay.

Remember it's not just about the weapon, it's also about the build, and while quality builds might be the meta, the more creative builds that incorporate casting might more commonly come out on top.

the best PvP weapon is kind of subjective and there is always a class/weapon counter out there that can put you down. but classic OP PvP weapon lists are all over the place, usually list weapons like... estoc, warden twinblades, gotthard twinswords, the washing pole, frayed blade, the list goes on a on really, you could put like 50+ weapons on a list that are all viable. There isn't really a best weapon in this game. Maybe there is a best build+weapon+player though, those stats might add up pretty significantly :)

Straight Swords or UGS. There's no other and there will be no other meta

UGS? SRSLY?!

For PvE this is probably true, but for PvP not at all; Straightswords are quite good but other metas involve Black Knight shield with Estoc which right now stands as the best. UGS are no way meta.
