Aldritch is literally impossible if you're a caster.
I've been trying for HOURS and Aldritch is just unkillable, even if you summon help, atleast if you're a magic user and thus can't meet stamina and health quotas. if you are a cookie cutter str or dex person who doesn't use magic and thus can easily meet health and stamina quotas, yeah aldritch is probably easy because you can take a hit or two and you won't run out of stamina and then instantly die to arrows, soul spears, teleport damage, fire damage, etc.

but a magic user, even summoning for help can't help, at MOST, if your summon doesn't die early, you'll make it to phase 2 and instantly get destroyed by all the extra stuff that happens in phase 2. It's like they didn't even think of the people who had less health or stamina when making this boss. it's unfair to those people.

it is patently ridiculous I'm down to only a small handful of embers because this boss has been killing me nonstop for hours even with help, here's a stream of a 40 minute excerpt of my attempts: https://youtu.be/JXLrm_S0pdU (please ignore the crappy PS4 mic)

I show my stats towards the end. I just don't know what I can do other than what, respec? I'd have to re-upgrade a new weapon for a Str or a dex build. Start over? It just feels crappy I have to start over just because "magic users are bad" Why have spells in the game if you're going to get stuck if you're not a Str/Dex user who can afford to pumps the crap out of stamina and health, because the Str/Dex requirements to equip gear is lower than the Int/Faith requirements to attune the better spells.

i've done aldritch with a sorc build, it helps to have a melee option ( i use the sharp infused estoc with weapon buff) just dodge and use soul arrow or heavy soul arrow when you have an opening, and mix it up with your melee weapon of choice after a teleport. it isn't impossible you just have to be patient and really learn his moveset dodging his arrows and magic attacks and punishing it stay semi close to him otherwise he spams you with magic and his melee is much easier to dodge, second phase stay at medium distance and only run in after an arrow barrage because if you stay close to him like you do in the first phase he has those fire attacks that rip you apart and are a pain in the nuts to dodge if you are overly aggresive.

I was talking abot the Lothric Stright Sword, the weapin people told me to replace the Rapier with.

They're not exactly wrong. It gets A/S scaling in either lightning, bless, or crystal infusions so it's definitely a good weapon later on.

As for Aldrich, when I had an INT build I just spammed r1 or something while using a resin aligned to something it's weak to. That and magic shield on a good shield.

Well, I just tried putting a fire gem in my +6 Estoc and am actually doing worse because I dunno, estoc's damage being too low just like the Rapier.

I don't have the freaking Large Titanite to go and upgrade some basic crapping longsword to +5/+6 just to fire gem it for this fight, and even if I did, I'd have to go respec too to get the Vigor/endurance everyone is saying is my problem and not be able to equip my high requirement weapons anymore, but that might not help me since I'd not have the materials to re-upgrade the longsword or whatever basic weapon I could actually manage to equip with no dex or strength.

So, just like that I'm in a osition where I have to start the game over.... just because I don't have the materials to support upgrading a post-respec weapon....

Yeah I know I can go get the ashes that allows me to buy Large Titannite in Boreal Valley, but there's a reason I never fully explored the silver knight house, I always get killed by silver knights. I always ran from them or Spook/Hidden Body to sneak past them.

Dude, just farm the knights with Crystal soul spear. Super Easy on high INT builds. As for weapons, Astor straight sword raw with a resin will fix the fight.

People are making this seem harder than it is when they mention vigor and hp. While yes 27 VIG is heavily recommended for PvP, you're just fine for PvE.all you really need is the right lola for the job. Which, unfortunate, does mean you need some large titanite and well upgraded raw ofr infused weapon.

Don't worry, every faces something like this. I had to think outside the box for nameless king on my lightning build because of his 2nd phase. Likewise, I had get cr stove with alrditch the first time cause I didn't know about silence spell.

Every sorcerer can use the pyromancy Chaos Fire Orb. Use the 2 pyromancer rings with this...done.
Other way, if you prefer melee: a bloody infused bandit dagger.

uh what? There is no need to start the game over. Sorry, but that's just silly. There are numerous ways to defeat all the bosses, including SL1 bare fists (not easy, but possible nonetheless).

Practice, don't get upset with death, learn from each death (did you try to dodge to early? to late? didn't even try? Rolled away instead of towards, or left instead of right or vicaversa? Tried to block an unblockable attack? What was the windup of that attack. memorize it and adjust, adapt, and practice until you master the timing, then conquere).

Maybe you have to backtrack a bit and farm some enemies for upgrade materials. Doing that will still be more efficient at this point than simply starting completely over again.

Unless of course you are really not enjoying your build at all and cannot respec anymore, then do what you will enjoy. Games (even challenging and increadibly rewarding ones when that challenge is faced and overcome through perseverance and skill) are meant to be fun after all.

Good luck.
Yeah hes a ♥♥♥♥♥ that one.... But I got a pure pyro built to wreck him in probably my 4th or 5th time after learning how to dodge that stupid arrow + soul spear spell..... Still not entirely an easy fight. Had to use Tears of Denial.

1 CBV takes a little less than a quarter of his health away, about 10 of them should kill him.

But for me to do that, I'd have to have enough Large Titanite to get a Pyromancy Flame to the same level as my staff, and I don't have the large titanite for that.

How to Aldrich as a mage.

Lol this is gold.

Why would a sorcerer choose to kill a boss via a melee strategy is the thing that lingered around me after watching about 3-4 minutes into the video.

So beat him with a +3 Pyro Flame. Or farm a bit until you can buy the Large Titanite Shards.

other people have given you advice on the build but you should also try and improve your gameplay, no offense but it's pretty bad. Stop panic rolling so much your wasting all your stamina, you get hit when aldrich dives everytime... stuff like this, you will need to improve if you want to progress

Because that's what the strategy I looked up told me?

Iguess, but I can't even get the realy good pyromancy people are mentioning because it requires me to get the Izalith Pyromancy Tome..... which requires me to do the Demon Ruins... which I skipped because it was actually too hard to the point even other people told me to skip it because it's entirely optional.
