What was the secret? Lightning resistance, or dodging more?
The secret is dodge, and the location of battle.
In his phase one, dodge is most effective. In his phase two, you should stand on the stairs, don't fight him on the bridge, cause one of his moves(aoe) will actually knock you off the bridge.
By Standing on the stairs(keep distance) you will find him frequently charge at you, it will give you time to hit him after you rolled to his back.
