stat prioritization for dark sword build?

I'm level 62 running the dark sword infused with a refined gem -2handed with grass crest shield.

I allocated my stas so far to Vigor 27, endurance 20, strength 27, dexterity 30. Wondering what stats I should mainly focus on/cap out first for this build. Thank you!

Dark sword build? LOL you mean R1 spam no skill meme lord weapon build? that weapon is not only the worst longsword in the game buts its also the easiest to counter.

well whats another quick 2h sword that works well with str/dex build... I thought dark sword was good

Don't listen to Leeroy, he is just jumping on the dark sword hate bandwagon. All straight swords are R1 spamming machines. Hell the Carthus Curved Sword was the worst of them all and no one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it.

Anyway the dark sword was nerfed so it is actually quite weak when taking the stats into account. You are better off just sticking with the long/broadsword refined. 428 and 446AR respectively, and they have better R2 movesets as well.

Dark sword is fine. It got nerfed and is still easy to parry. If you use it properly instead of spamming r1 you should be fine.

Its main problems are the parry and its r2 being awkward. One thing to note though is that the stomp skill can be very useful as it gives poise purpose, which makes dark sword one of the few smaller weapons which benefits from armour. Also if you know they are going to parry, you can take advantage or switch weapons.

Dark sword is great parry bait.

So the best 2h for refined gem str/dex build is prob just the longsword? my longsword is already +7 but I used the only refined gem I have on the dark sword.

I suggest refined exile greatsword. With 40/40 it does ridiculous damage.

So what makes the darksword not good anymore? It sucks cuz I already upgraded and used my only refined gem. For a dex/str build I want a 2h sword but a quicker attack one. Like not a huge one that attacks slow, that's why I thought the darksword was good. I'll use the longsword though if it's better

You keep saying 2h but i guess what you mean is a sword you can use with 2 hands that moves quickly since your not interested in greatswords like the claymore or a personal fave of mine the bastard sword.

Darksword is mostly used with one hand, like many longswords in this game. For a quick sword you can 2 hand, i much prefer curved swords for the sideways motions and such. Other longswords are decent if you like the weapon skill, but the attack type of up/down is annoying unless your inside and avoiding walls.

Longsword is considered best by default for most people, the rest have chosen based on preferences to a particular aspect or aspects about other swords. Dark sword used to be stronger, but now its balanced.

It uses alot of stamina for a longsword btw.

Dark Sword is cool and all but i highly recommend to think about changing to to Lothric Straight Sword instead.
Dark Sword's R2 is a standart damage attack just like R1 so there's no utility (although animations look awesome). Not sure how useful weapon art either.

Lothric Knight Straight Sword, on the other hand, is the longest of the Straight Swords (together with Dark Sword and Lothric's Holy Sword) and has a full set of R2 thrust attacks. Also it has a very nice fashion going on.

Oh and almost all straight swords are quality-monsters so just go refined infsuion and amp those STR and DEX until they hit 40 (after that stats don't give much effect).

In fact - 90% of weapons in the game are quality ones, with VERY few exceptions.

Ah ok ty. I just figured I'd 2 hand a quicker sword and learn to roll more. Dark sword looks cool but if there are better swords I'll use them. I'm using the dark armor set cuz it looks cool
