[SOLVED] Game keeps crashing!
Windows mode did the trick. Thank you BubuGO.

Sorry if this is not the place to post this but now im just trying everywhere.
With my limited english ill try my best to explain my problem here. I bought the game a week ago and i love it. The problem is ... keeps crashing.

- Whats the problem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FULKZbN7qqM
Game just freezes. Sound keeps going, image stays static and the only way to leave the game its by restarting computer.

- When:
Random! Killing, walking, jumping ... just random. Mostly killing.

- What was done:
Setting Lighting to low. Auto detect Off.
Helmet equiped.
Xbox controller driver "updated". (even tried to play with only keyboard-mouse)
Nvidia driver up to date.
Nvidia driver rolled back.
Nivida Control Panel tweaks.
Updated Virtual Memory

- PC specs:
Windows 10 Pro - 64 bits
Intel i5-4870 CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM 8GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 - 8GB

I think thats all. Anything you want to know, if you want to try and help me, just ask. Thanks in advance. I hope i can fix this ... but i cant see to find the problem.

I will update/edit this post with a fix.
Maybe i can help someone else with the same problem.

i do have the exact same problem with my gtx 1060.
lower your shadow and light resolution and play in windowed mode that did it for me.
But thats just a temporaly solution and im still trying to fix it.
it seems like its got to do something with the save files but im not sure.
anyway a question from me do you have stutering at some points in the game where you just wlk through and you got a framedrop for 1 sec and everything is normal than?

I can't help much but just pointing out, I have the same video card (with latest drivers), same amount of ram, using xbox controller, playing on max everything, slightly better cpu and run on windows 7. Played over 100 hours and never had 1 single crash at all.

Have you tried other games, it kind of sounds like a failing ram stick maybe.

I'd also try a re-install, could be a corrupted file possibly.

Hey all - what fixed my crashes were disassociating dropbox from the DS3 save location in C:\Users\<user name>\appdata\roaming\DarkSoulsIII

This is not a default configuration though as I had to create a shortcut to the folder at C:\Users\<user name>\Dropbox\Cloudsaves\DarkSoulsIII

Once i removed the shortcut, it didn't matter what my settings were, it just works now. I wont be able to use more than 1 computer to play DS3 now with a 'cloud save' feature, but I'm okay with it.

I hope this helps someone else who struggled as much as I did looking for an answer in the wrong place, lol.

I can confirm, replacing the not implemented steam cloud sync in Dark Souls 3 with another cloud solution (google drive in my case) causes the game sometimes to crash while auto saving.

The game stopped crashing after I disabled the synchronization with the save folder.

can also confirm this is the issue. this sucks.

Probably as DS3 doesn't have a cloud save it was causing the issue

How do I go about replacing/redirecting Dark Souls 3's nonworking steam cloud sync to google drive instead? I'm having similar crashes, and this might be the fix I'm looking for.

Not sure if this will help, but I have this explanation for the main save location. Might help you to back up saves or move them :
