Why would I use Black Knight Sword when it can't be infused?
If I could give it Refined, it would be great. Why do people use it when it cannot be infused?

lol
It's a great weapon for quality build already. Besides, it does 20% extra damage to some enemies.

care to explain? the scaling is already poor. d/d.
Moveset, looks, damage. The only time weapons, that are upgraded through regular means, are stronger than weapons in their same class that are upgraded through special titanate is when you buff them. And most weapons that are upgraded through special titante have some sort of unique twist to their moveset that other weapons of the same class do not have.

Okay, so it's mediocre compared to any B/B weapon. Got it.

Only looking for max damage isn't a good way to play the game. Moveset is arguably far more important, and fashion is probably most important of all. You should use what you like, not what's supposedly the best.

More relevant: What weapon do you believe outdamages it? I'm looking at my spreadsheet and it seems pretty damn strong.

my current 198+335 straight sword

What sword is that? I don't see any straight sword that strong unless you're going past 40/40.

Regardless, comparing Straight Swords to Greatswords is, again, ignoring the moveset and other benefits to different weapons and weapon types. A greatsword, for example, could poise through attacks while a straightsword cannot. Then there is range, poise damage, weapon arts, etc.

I'm considering GS because of poising through attacks, but I don't think it's worth it in the end
Yknow, ya could've just said you don't prefer the BKGS over straight swords instead of making it sound like its a terrible weapon.

If I can land PVP kills with the Greatlance, pretty sure many people can land easy wins with the BKGS.
Greatswords in pvp are kinda sweet right now lol. A straight sword will do the most DPS however since its so fast.

If your only after dps, then obviously a straight sword is the way to go.
Even without infusions Black Knight Greatsword has amazing scaling and damage.
It also has a very useful weapon art, unique R2 moveset and it deals bonus damage to poise according to descriptions, which is especially useful in PvE where this sword will much more often break bosses and open them for ripostes and such
