Should I use a Raw Gem or Refined for this weapon. i want to make it bad ass

Depends on your stats, but if you have good str and dex use the refined gem.

afaik it works best on a dex biuld with sharp gem, refined works quite well too from what I've played.

Edit: Given your stats I'd say try out heavy infusion. Astora is quite flexible regarding infusions anyway, so you can't really go wrong as long as it fits your stats.

It gets A or S scaling out of almost every infusions.

It's an all around great weapon

Raw would only be better if you had the minimum stat requirement. Most weapon will best raw with even just a few levels above bare minimum.

Heavy is better for your stats for sure and refined is rarely worth it now.

While it will work with heavy, on your stats, it`s gonna be so much better with Sharp and a dex build. You get the ability to respec a bit after you get it, so I strongly suggest you just put the minimal STR requirement for it and put all the rest in DEX.

However, if you wanna stick to STR, the zweihander will have better scaling with Heavy than the Astora and the moveset is very very similar, except for the WA. That said, the zwei's WA is arguably better.

I believe Astora UGS shines with high dex + sharp.
I did some testing and refined 40/40 is simply not as good.
Maybe two-handed... Maybe.
