Recommended lvl for Ashes of Ariandel?

Im currently lvl 42, and was actually progressing throught the dlc just fine, until i got to the optional boss, the Champions. The problem with this boss is that the wolf is one hit killing me. I looked it up, and people are saying at least lvl 80 for an enjoyable experience with the dlc. Should I wait and lvl up a bit (to around lvl 80)?

You can go as soon as you are able if you want, only trouble you might have is those psychotic bird demon things.

I like to go somewhere between level 60 and 80. And it's a must that you go through with a minimum of 27 vigour and 40 in your main combat stat. So yeah, even the game recommends that you go through Lothric Castle before doing the DLC.

I usually finish Lothric Castle without farming at sl 90, which is why I said 80-100. Depends on the player.

I thought the message said to clear the Irithyll Dungeon first. But anyway yeah 60-80 is probably best.

I always thought it was getting to Lothric Castle, not clearing it. Killing Prince Lothric gets you access to Ringed City, which is meant to be AFTER Ashes.

Yeah, I'd say Ringed City is more 80-100. Also the hardest content in Dark Souls IMO. It's at least as hard as DS2.
