It's just a not so strong katana... Which is actually kinda fun to use, even tho it's far from being the best katana. And katanas aren't that strong in this game either. I mean yeah you can spam them running attacks, but you can spam them parries against it so easily.

What's bad about it?
Its a katana - pretty standart weapon for dark souls universe.
Its a boss weapon, and a dragon one at that - bonus style points.
Amazing weapon art, easily scales with dex.

And pretty fair disadvantages: easily destroyed by hyper-poise monsters since you can't trade, at all, its easily broken if overused (especially the weapon art) and its lweights good 8.00 of weight which is astonishing for a weapon of this class.

TL:DR - it exists because said so and i don't see any reasons why wouldn't it.

Afaik, R1->R1WA is a true combo with Frayed Blade which makes it probably the best katana. R2WA is also nice and so is the damage. Not as OP as Gael's Sword but still very good.

It's a strange weapon, the weapon art is good in PvE and great in PvP but it's honestly boring to use imo

Yea its a cool katana, not too strong but not completely usless...i dont see a problem with this weapon and i think its a nice addition to the game. (especially for cosplays)

How is it any different?
The only 2 ever most annoying katanas are washing pole (UGS reach) and the dual ones (which thankfuly been nerfed).
All others are just... Normal katanas.

you can r1r1 back off weapon art thingy and deal a ♥♥♥♥-ton of damage, I'd rather fight someone with the washing pole, which I think is a fine weapon.

the dual ones have been nerfed so nobody uses it anymore, so I can't really complain about it

What's R1 WA again? The ranged thingy? Its linear and easy to dodge. Just dodge sideways, or maybe even into it.

If you dodge into it you get hit and take more damage because you get hit by the blade and the projectile

another noob weapon people just keep spamming WA fast slash ♥♥♥♥ and i just applause them infinitely, at some point normal attacks surprise you since they spam WA like there is no tmorrow
