If you like using 2 handers, I would normally go with Astora Greatsword. It's a complete monster.
If you're going with 1 handers, the array of weapons you could use is even bigger.
For now the best infusion weapon I have discovered is the regular longsword, but it's pretty boring. I chose partisan as my secondary weapon, but surprisingly when infused with lighting it has less AR than the longsword in both physical and lighting damage.
That makes me wonder what are some good weapon choices for pure FTH build.
Great job fromsoft, it was so "easy" to land a hit with a bigger weapon before, now they just run to you and spam it, can't even trade because I get staggered first. As if the pyromancers weren't cancer enough with the non-stop distance rolling and chip-damaging..
Once your build actually gets going, the lightning + physical will outscale AR-wise.
DO NOT INFUSE WITH LIGHTNING.
It is a waste.
If you're going 40/40 str/dex, infuse it with Refined, and then use the Lightning Weapon buff (miracle) to buff it. It gives you WAY more damage.
Most straight swords are boring and have the same moveset.
Lothric Knight Sword has S scaling in faith at +9, so it's a decent option.

Dragonslayer's Axe is unique,
it has lightning damage with it but can be INFUSED AND BUFFED?
Sounds broken.
Infuse with Refined, buff with more Lightning damage. Tons of damage.

dont we love daggers with 519AR and quickstep
Infused weapons are more practical then buffed weapons.
They don't waste your Attunement Slots, you don't have to take your time to buff it, and you don't have to do it 60 seconds latter.
I know that buffed weapons are with higher AR, but AR is not the only thing that matters, otherwise all players will go for Ledo's Great Hammer or some weapons like that.
Practicality is null if you're doing far less damage than you could be.
66 STR and Ledo's Hammer is stupid. I don't know why anybody thinks that it's meta, because it's a waste of points for something that doesn't even do that much extra compared to a 40/40 build with a buff.
As for attunement slots, there are always points left over...getting 1 attunement slot is ideal, plus you'll have the extra FP.
Besides. This is for a 60 FTH build. Unless he's going to use nothing but lightning spears and heals, he's going to need a weapon as backup with as much damage as he can get. Going 66 str + 60 faith already caps him out if he wants to stay in in SL 120 range or lower.
So far it appears that longswords are the only viable choice for such character, which is kind of sad because similar INT builds have many more interesting weapons to choose from: moonlight greatsword, greatsword of judgement, crystal sage rapier, crescent moon sword...
It's kind of unfair and ruins gameplay variety, I'm trying to fix that.
You could always reset your stats and get 24 str instead. Get yourself the Butcher Knife and you're set.
