The NPC before the first judicator?

There's this crawling NPC before the first judicator trap, after the demon prince, who asks you whether you serve the gods or just pretending.

This NPC, does he do anything? Does he serve a purpose beyond the mindless dialogue?

I've always been a darkstalker, I don't serve nor pretend to serve Gwyn's heir, but it only adds those 2 options, so it is a mindless dialogue.

But the question is she ask if we remember our gods. We can say Gwyn. Or we can say we don't care. So we don't get anything if we say we don't care? If so can we repeat the conversation?

That's not the NPC we are talking about, that's Shira. If you answer negatively you just have to talk to her again and again, she won't do anything until you tell her "Gwyn".

The NPC we are talking about is the one you meet right at the beginning of the Ringed city, which is a pigmy wretch that wants you to do as Kaathe wants. I was thinking about this corvian settler that dropped a slab as soon as you killed Friede, like this pigmy could also drop something, or we might be able to give him the blood of the dark soul, but he just disappears dafuq?

Me and my friend both chose a different option, both receive different dialogue but in the end the dialogue leads to the same thing... one just got a bit of extra. It's a pointless decision.

It's not Shira, it's that unnamed pygmy lord guy (without a crown) that appears just before the Mausoleum Lookout bonfire.

He seems to disappear, unless he moves somewhere. There doesn't seem to be anything you can do with him. I tried going back to his location with the blood of the dark soul to see if I could give it to him but he'd despawned.
