The fire keeper's character
Now, I'd like to get the whole communities opinion on this. I personally adore the fire keeper but I also don't think she was really given that much of a character making her the bland "oh I'm here to serve you" kind of character.

I kinda would have liked to see the fire keeper actually have more of a personality and develop a relationship with you as you progress in the game. Maybe make her a possible romance option like Anri was (without stabbing her in the face).

Idk. I just feel like the fire keeper's character could have been better ya know? Well, y'all let me know what y'all think wether you agree or disagree.

most of the NPCs dont have much development, anri didnt have much development either. one moment you're talking to him/her the next you're stabbing em in the face.

but in general you dont have much interaction with most of the NPCs to have a "relationship" and most of them dont have too much in terms of backstory, just enough to fill their role in the overall lore

I guess she is supposed to be a comrade, and i'm fine with that. She also seems to have a life that was, maybe from the beginning, supposed to be dedicated for the sole pupose to be a firekeeper, so there was never much room for personality-development.

I can't put judgement on a speculative storyline. So i can only say what i say pretty often: Yes, if it's done well. No, if not.

Personally I hate those characters(in ds3 and in ds2). I loved how Dark Souls 1 gave me feeling of loneliness in world, even if You meet someone on your journey it was rare. You were alone in strange land without really knowing what to do and were to go.
Shanalotte and Fire Keeper killed this feeling.

What I was always missing in Dark Souls 2 and 3 is character to get attached to, like mighty Solaire was. Not only he helped You A LOT but also his character is created in such a way, like, dunno.. maybe I am just being sentimental.

You said it yourself. There are comrades in every game. And Solaire even fights with you potentially to the very end ;).

Maybe there are but non of them even comes close to the place in my heart that Solaire was. Even his dialouges are touching darkness withing me, hehe.

When i think about the later dialogues, it is pretty clear, that firekeepers are indoctrinated to behave and even think in a certain manner. But then she is open for, so to say, revolutionary ideas. Though in the end, she still simply does what the ashen one wants, so yeah, not exactly a strong independent type character. But everyone who simply follows Gwyn's doctrine is only a loyal, or even submissive keeper of traditions. All in all, i think she has a pretty detailed character in relation to the other ones in DS.

So you want DS3 to be a dating sim?

Also she does have a character, she wants certain endings depending on if you give her the eyes or not. And she expresses that need of hers.

She had more of a character than most of the ppl you find in the shrine.
