I played Dark Souls 3 in offline mode.
Upon playing it online a few days later I get a message saying my game data is invalid
(I dont read the information tab so I didnt notice it at first)
Found the message this morning, was worried that I got banned so I hoped in and tried pvping, it worked so I didnt think anything of it.
Got banned 10 minutes ago.
Is there anything I can do? Can I still pvp? This is really fustrating to play a game 135 hours on a character and get it taken away from you and banned cause of an auto detection system.
Suppose pleading ignorance isnt a good excuse, but this is kinda ridiculous

The game checks if you have anything that you couldn't possibly obtain, but also picks up on other things that seem temporary to us.
If you upgrade more than 4 weapons to +10 you get banned, if you fiddle with the camera you get banned, if you spawn items you get banned (in one of the three DS games, can't remember).
There's a bunch of traps the game also checks for. No need to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about ♥♥♥♥ you're not even able to check. It's just guessing games, but we do have testimonies. If you wanna bet on your skepticism before trusting and helping others, you're gonna lose the bet.

yeah, didn't make sense to me either.. maybe they meant 14? But that still doesn't make sense, there are 15 slabs available per playthrough with the DLC, and infinite upgrade materials of every type except the slabs.

You gotta delete/rename/move your save and create a new one with a new character. You will get unbanned in about 1 month.
You can also try restoring a backup if you have one, but if you have no idea what got you banned, you can't be sure that backup will be valid.

Did you cheat? You get banned even if you cheated offline, as long as something not legit gets saved in your save.

This is an old thread, and things have changed in the meantime. You have to open a support ticket here: https://service-en.bandainamcoent.eu/app/ask/p/6893
You have to give them the link to your steam profile and tell them what happened to you. If it's your first ban, they will unban you.
