So in the Dreg heap... [Semi-spoilers, lore related]
There is literally just the remains of the Earthen Peak zone from Dark Souls 2. Pieces of the windmill and all. It's even called the Earthen peak ruins. So that gives me a couple questions.
1. Why are people speculating that the zone is supposed to be some other specific place when it's literally shares the name of the same zone of Dark Souls 2? That seems pretty open and shut to me at least for that part. I see posts on the reddit of people "theorizing" and they seem to forget this fact sorta confirms it's either a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of several lands(Like the game says) or it's on the Dark Souls 2 island.
2. Why isn't there a ladder into the sky to Iron Keep?

That theory from reddit is just BS.

Why there isn't a ladder could be speculated, but since earthen peak goes to a cliff instead of harvest valley... one can only asume the ground had withered and it all collapsed.

The ladder thing was more me just joking at how absurd that transition in Dark Souls 2 was, but yeah, I'm more confused why they reused one zone but everything else seems original. I mean, past the Ringed City streets bonfire it kinda looks like the shrine of amana(and is almost as annoying!) but yeah things seem original besides one dark souls 2 zone.

Well, it obviously is Earthen Peak from DS2, I never doubted that and I don't know why people where so hostile when someone said so before release, I mean we all can see that it is the exact thing now...it is also a better level then in DS2 :-D

To 2.) Yeah, where is it? :-D

Don't forget that lands converge around Lothric.

That part is Earthen Peak alright. But the other parts of Dreg Heap aren't from there. The area is a cluster of different lands and time, Earthen Peak is just one of them.
