just use the shield of the want
hyper armor? that's every boss in the game
Seriously, though, I can roll through everything pretty easily (far easier than with SoC/Pontiff). I can also tank the whole fight on NG+5. Plus he has little to no HA compared to other bosses, you can actually stunlock him with the paired UGS, which you can't with other bosses.
Also the Greatshield with the most balance works wonders. I defeated him with only dodging without shield.. and without dodge and greatshield. Both is doable.
Both bosses... midir and gael.. a lot of attacks can be dodged with just walking backwards. Try it.
And no, I don't mean that I'm so good. I mean it's so easy that even I could kill him second try. I don't like boss fights, but Gael did not annoy me at all. Midir on the other hand...
People take ranged for granted especially in boss fights
Slave knight was an amazing boss fight and simply requires some skills to beat. Nothing he does is unfair and just requires to figure out his move set, when to attack and when to dodge or block.
Midir is the hardest boss out of the 3 but still ez
Just use estus instead of attacking during your next opportunity?
Do you mean like this 10% HP chip damage he can do in the third phase? Do people really die from that?
You can roll through or away from every single one of his attacks, including the super telegraphed 6-hit he does in the first phase. Except if you've got 10 Endurance maybe.
I don't consider myself a very good player but I found this boss perfectly fair and he actually epitomizes everything a good DS boss battle is: learn his moveset, when to strike, what to stay clear of, or you'll get destroyed.
