SPOILERS!! question about a DLC NPC

hey there, so im trying to keep on this lapp quest, and i had him in the circular room wondering who he is and now he's "amnesiac lapp" and is hostile. did i progress too far? die to many times? take too long somehow? i just found the monument and tried to go back and i died right before the door but saw his polearrm out so he's definitely still not sitting.

why is he hostile?? do i just need to absolve?

Reset agro. You can do that at the monument. Ask for absolution. Then try again.

Absolve yourself, he will go hollow if you dont find the monument before a certain point. But you can absolve to reverse it, just make sure you tell him where it is after you do.

Might have progressed to far in the main DLC quest.
You can just kill him and take the ashes to the merchant and you still get everything.
Only thing you miss is his story.

Not worth the time to farm souls for absolution IMO.

I killed last boss (but didn't kill optional boss yet), and I didn't have this problem. This may be caused by killing ALL bosses, but I dunno... Maybe I just had luck.

Anyway IMO his story is worth it. I wasn't surprised, but if you don't know who he is then it's recommended to finish his story.

i just prayed to the monument for absolution and it says i have not sinned.

i have only killed the demon prince and the pvp fight. maybe i should try reinstating?

Just kill him and get his stuff. The only thing you miss is his story which you could just see on a new playthrough or on youtube.

just killed him, no drops to speak of. already had his weapon and i have the ruin armor, but does he drop something esle?

he drops the undead matches ashes, his set is now with the shrine maiden though if you want that.

He doesn't drop anything (other than Arena Bone if you haven't gotten it already from Ariandel DLC). Just go to the Shrine Handmaid and she will have his armorset for sale.
