Do I get to fight Midir after Gael or what????
So I'm casually taking a stroll through my favorite ash heap and all of a sudden I'm met with Gael? Thought he was last? Do I get to fight Midir after? Only asking because I can't play for another 12 hours and was just wondering wtf was goin on like. Cheers

Yes, Midir is an optional boss
You can fight midir any time

As long as you don't start a NG, yes, you can.
Midir is a cheap boss tho, it's more better to trade something for Flayed Blade tbh

Midir is optional, you can kill him anytime. EDIT: There is a questline to kill Midir involving Shira, the NPC, but if you don't do it you can still get the reward later.

Yup, Midir is worth a Titanite Slab if you took your time while exploring the DLC.

I don't have that option, fog gate is for Gael, there's no changing that. I have way more slabs than I'll ever need, don;t wanna miss out on any story and or cut scenes though.

ah wtf so I don't get to fight Shira this playthrough. NM DLC so good I'll get her on the next

You won't miss anything, just a couple lines of dialogue from Shira. I didn't realize that the reward for killing Midir can be gained before or after, it doesn't matter.
