I recommend you to pump some of your points to Vigor because most of the enemies will hit like a truck (NG++ wise).
You start it in Sister Friede's boss room in Ariandel. There's a bonfire in the back in front of a statue that teleports you there.
Would make sure you have 40 (softcapped) vigor at the very least.
Most people who have early access very skilled.
I think Lobos can play in level 1, but its not since you can.
Anyway you can enter from Kiln, there is a new bonfire. I accesed the 2nd DLC via there. I don't know about the Friede access point, but if people say it's there, it must be.
And yes, you can access from Kiln, even if you have the 1st DLC.
