Any idea how to deal with the angels in the Ringed City DLC?
I'm stuck. These ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are making it pretty much impossible to get part this point, especially when they chuck two of them up. I've tried killing them but they just respawn and can only be killed by ranged attacks anyway.

Anyone found a reliable way to deal with them besides run and pray to god it works?

Ok, a detailed explanation how to beat this area:

Spoilers!

The two angels after the second bonfire are most easy to deal with by rushing past the first one, and getting into the swamp area right away. When the swamp angel spawns in watch the sky behind him, and you will see a pillar of light appear where the cocoon sits on top of the delapidated windmill. To get there you first run to the small shed with two stinkbugs in it, kill them, wait out his barrage, then take cover underneath the big root that arches over the entrance to the cave on the other side. Don't worry about wasting Estus, just heal up whenever you reach a safe spot, once the angels are dead you can clean out the zones in peace. Run up the root that leads to the mill, you have to stop about a quarter of the way up where the second root that wraps around it will cover you. Drink more Estus if need be. Then make your way further up the root till the mill building shelters you. You'll get to a rocky path that has a pyromancer patrolling on it, ignore her for now, instead look to the right and jump onto the roof of the building that sheltered you while you ascended the root. From here run across another root to the building with the cocoon and end that angel.

Now you're set for the second one, you'll have to fight the pyromancer, she has two drinks of Estus and throws fireballs. She also has two minions you need to fight at the same time. It's easy to dispatch the minions without getting fireballed with invisibility. Now follow the path until you get to another large root. The first angel will start firing on you again while you make your way along it. Shelter where you can until you can drop onto the buildings below. You'll see a root running down a trench made by the ruined buildings in the center of this area, follow that root. It leads down to a small rocky outcropping where you can finish off the other angel. The next bonfire is reached by heading back up and dropping into the ash pile inside the ruined tower.

If you want to speedrun this you can also run past the entrance to the fallen tower while in the first angel's area toward the shack that stands on the very edge of the cliff. If you drop down from there and hit the root exactly you can go directly to the first angel's cocoon, head up the root, and then jump into the ruined tower to get to the bonfire while completely bypassing the swamp area.

Are these people seriously complaining about challenging gameplay?
About a difficult enemy that's a pain to dispatch?
Welcome to Dark Souls scrubs!

There's a difference between challenge and death despite the fact that you're sprinting as fast as possible.

You should have seen them when the dlcs released, before the nerf.
Now they're relatively easy to dodge and run from. Like some people said, you need to find the "hosts" of the angels and kill them, they don't respawn after that. So take a good look around the area and prioritize finding them, after that you can explore the area in (relative) peace.

IF you have trouble moving about when they're alive, use greater magic barrier and fast roll

Death is never guaranteed and it's possible to survive even without killing the host, so....
Yeah, time to face the challenge.

.
They were much more scarier then.
Am I the only one that genuinely loved this addition? (pre-nerf, haven't played after)

I mean, the pace was way more Dark Soul-ish without the do-the-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-barrel-roll joker in my opinion.
